Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj may have kept their relationship quiet at first, but the rapper recently opened up on what it's like to date the Queen of Rap herself.
On Wednesday, Meek Mill, 28, sat down with Power 105.1's Angie Martinez to talk about his new album, "Dreams Worth More Than Money," which was released earlier this week. When Martinez finally asked what it's like to date the one and only Nicki Minaj, 32, he got a little emotional.
"It's a dream for me to be in any of these positions," he said about how great things are going in his life right now. "I be waking up in the bed, see Nicki, and just go back to sleep like, 'Oh, this must be a dream. Let me wake back up again.'"
When they first got together, Meek said they wanted to keep it a secret because she had just ended her 11-year relationship with Safaree Samuels. "She would just be sitting back worried how people were gonna take it because she was making new decisions in her life," he said. "But I never really cared what people be saying."
Just days before the album was released, Meek Mill dropped his newest single, "All Eyes On You," which features Minaj and Chris Brown. On the track during Nicki's verse, she raps about the two as an item saying, "Still at the top of all the hit lists / What they gon' do? / Meek and Nick."
It was Minaj who encouraged him to record a song like this that could be a radio record. "It be like World War III up in [the studio]," he said about the recording process.
The two really are in love, though, and with all the rumors going around lately he made sure to clear it up that they aren't engaged, despite what everyone thought after Minaj posted a photo to her Instagram of a heart-shaped diamond ring. The ring was simply a gift from Mill, not an engagement ring.
They also showed up to the 2015 BET Awards red carpet together the other night and Minaj was sure to post a few pictures of them looking happy as ever. They even got on stage together for their first TV appearance as a couple when they performed the new song with Brown, MTV News reports. They held hands as they walked off stage and back to their seats.
She's been sharing a lot more photos of the two on her Instagram lately and she even got Mill to post a few of his own.
"She do that to me," he said. "So I make sure I support her the same way and give her the same. She can't be on there flaunting me and I'm just not saying nothing, so I make sure I flaunt that too."
