The less-than-adequate counselors of Camp Firewood are back in the first official trailer for Netflix's "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp."
The prequel series welcomes back the original cast from the 2001 cult classic, which took place on the last day at the fictional Jewish summer camp in 1981. The eight-episode limited-run series will premiere on July 31.
In the trailer, the young counselors go over the ground rules which most will break by the end of camp and romantic sparks start to fly, especially between Bradley Cooper and Michael Ian Black's closeted characters. Janeane Garofalo camp director also unmasks Christopher Meloni as not only a chef but a martial arts trained, Vietnam veteran.
Other returning stars include Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Elizabeth Banks, Michael Showalter, David Wain, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, A.D. Miles, Molly Shannon, David Hyde Pierce, Ken Marino, Joe Lo Truglio, Marisa Ryan, Kevin Sussman and Judah Friedlander. H. Jon Benjamin also gets upgraded from a can of vegetables to the camp leader.
New camp members are Kristen Wiig, Jordan Peele, John Slattery, Michael Cera, Josh Charles, Jon Hamm and special appearances by Chris Pine and "Weird Al" Yankovic. Wain directed and co-wrote the series with Showalter.
