“The Vampire Diaries” has cast yet another good-looking dude that could stir up some things for the main cast, specifically Elena (Nina Dobrev).
Shaun Sipos—Jack Savage on ABC’s “Complete Savages,” David Breck on CW’s “Melrose Place,” and Eric Daniels on CW’s “Life Unexpected”—will step into the role of Aaron, according to EOnline.com.
Aaron will be someone Elena grows close with at Whitmore College due to their pasts. The two have both come out on the other side of extremely tragic moments in their family.
Now, the obvious question here is—Will Elena and Aaron get together at any point?
Unfortunately for fans tired of seeing Elena with the Salvatore boys, an Elena/Aaron relationship could be non-existent or something that doesn’t happen for quite awhile.
Show creators and Executive producers Julie Plec and Caroline Dries already told us, according to WetPaint.com, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena are still together as we head into season five.
Plec said earlier this month that Elena’s “got this really loving and thrilling relationship with Damon that she's been experiencing all summer.”
“…luckily, Whitmore's just a car ride away, so it's long distance, but they're still going to have scenes together and stuff, so it's not like she's going away forever,” added Dries.
Plec told EOnline earlier this summer the elder Salvatore and Elena will be together for the time being. However, she added, “We’ll see how well we do with that.”
So who knows? We could see Miss Gilbert and Aaron together yet.
Season 5 of “The Vampire Diaries” will premiere Thursday, Oct. 10 on the CW.
