What's one of the perks of being the president's daughter? Getting an internship—while still in high school—with one of TV's coolest shows, of course! Malia Obama is reportedly spending part of the summer interning for the series "Girls."
President Barack Obama's first born, who turns 17 July 4, was spotted on the HBO show's Brooklyn set Thursday, according to the New York Post. The newspaper even has photos of Malia wearing denim cutoff shorts, a sleeveless shirt and tennis sneakers while drinking a blue beverage on the Williamsburg set. Check out the photos here.
"Girls" creator and star Lena Dunham was clearly a fan of Malia long before her internship began. Two years ago, she tweeted birthday wishes to the teenager:
This isn't the first time Malia has interned for a television program. In 2014, she worked as a production assistant on the Hollywood set of the Halle Berry drama "Extant" where, according to TMZ, she went on coffee runs for the cast and also helped the crew stop pedestrians from walking through the set while filming was in progress.
"I can tell you that [Malia] is graceful and lovely and just charming and delightful.... She's pretty remarkable," said "Extant" star Camryn Manheim to "Entertainment Tonight" in June 2014.
"When you get hoisted into the spotlight like that, and you grow up under the scrutiny of everybody, and to come out being so charming and in charge of herself, with so much poise, it's beautiful," added Manheim. "Any parent would look at her and be proud."
