Who needs Zayn Malik? It's been about three months since Malik left One Direction, but his departure isn't keeping the band from having some of their best shows ever.
Harry Style told Entertainment Weekly that the group is doing pretty well on tour, saying, "There have been incredible shows across Europe. Some of the best we've had."
As to how the band's shows have changed since the group became a foursome, Styles said, "The only changes have been that the parts Zayn sang have been picked up by different people. Other than that, the shows have been going absolutely great."
Style also gave his bandmate Liam Payne credit for taking over several of Malik notes - as fans would attest Malik leaving the group did leave a missing piece in the band's musical structure, especially when it comes to hitting those high notes.
During the interview, Styles also gave a slight update about One Direction's new and first studio album without Malik.
"We're currently recording and writing our next album, so we'll be working on that," Styles shared. "The songs are coming together quickly, so we're buzzing with the new stuff. It carries a slightly new identity, but I think it's an obvious change from [last album 'Four'] in a positive way. We've branched out and worked with different writers, and we've got some great songs!
The boy band is gearing up for the North American leg of 1D's tour.
