Vanessa Williams is a married woman!
The singer-actress said "I Do" to her fiancé Jim Skrip in front of her fiends and family in New York on Saturday, PEOPLE confirmed. Just days before her ceremony, the former "Ugly Betty" actress teased about a "road trip" on her social media page," writing, "Road trip for the holiday weekend Happy 4th."
Williams, 52, first mentioned her engagement during an appearance on "The Queen Latifah Show" in September 2014.
"I got engaged. I have had a lot of good things happen while I've been on this lovely trip," she revealed to Latifah. "I turned 50 when we were in rehearsal on Broadway, I just got engaged a couple of weeks ago...It has been a lot of blessings on this trip."
Us Weekly reported that Williams and Skrip, a former accountant, first met in 2013 while they both were in Egypt. Williams opened up to Madame Noire about meeting her beau.
"You never know what you'll find and where you'll find it," she said. "I was on vacation with my daughter going to Egypt, cruising on the Nile. I wasn't looking for anything. I'd been alone for a number of years and divorced for 10 years at that time."
She added: "[Jim] accepted me for who I was after a wonderful first three-hour date of talking about ourselves. We found out we had a lot of things in common."
Williams has two daughters and a son from her first marriage to PR consultant Ramon Hervey, whom she was married to from 1987-1997. Williams also has a daughter with her second ex-husband, former NBA player Rick Fox, whom she married in 1999, but filed for divorce nearly five years later.
