'Buffy' Star Depressed: Actor Nicholas Brendon Makes Plea To Dr. Drew

Former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Nicholas Brendon is now on the road to recovery after years of substance abuse and depression. Brendon took to Twitter on July 4 to ask his followers to get him in contact with Dr. Drew, a rehab specialist.

"If anyone sees @drdrew, have him give a call. Could sure use a pep talk :/ #depressionisreal #helpisoutthere #keepfighting," Brendon tweeted to his 90,000 followers.

The actor entered a California rehab facility on June 2 to treat his depression, alcoholism and substance abuse, according to his Facebook page. The 44-year-old actor has been arrested three times for charges including grand theft, public intoxication and criminal mischief, People Magazine reported.

The actor was arrested in Tallahassee, Fla. in March for allegedly damaged a hotel room after demanding an upgrade since he was a TV star, according to the Daily Mail. His latest arrest was in Myrtle Beach, S.C. for public intoxication.
