Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton offered encouragement to a distraught young man worried about the uncertainties of being gay on a Humans of New York Facebook post, telling him that his future would be "amazing," according to the New York Times.
The boy, who has not yet been identified, can be seen crying in the photo, holding his head in his hands as he sits on a stoop. "I'm homosexual, and I'm afraid about what my future will be and that people won't like me," he said, according to the caption.
The Facebook post has garnered more than 600,000 likes and 57,000 shares since it was posted on Friday but what Humans of New York creator Brandon Stanton may not have expected was a response from former secretary of state Hillary Clinton.
Clinton wrote "Prediction from a grown-up: Your future is going to be amazing. You will surprise yourself with what you're capable of and the incredible things you go on to do. Find the people who love and believe in you -- there will be lots of them," signed with her distinctive "H," according to CNN.

Ellen Degeneres also commented on the post from her TV show's official Facebook page. "Not only will people like you, they'll love you. I just heard of you and I love you already," she wrote, NBC News reported.
The Humans of New York Facebook page has more than 13 million followers. Stanton started the page back in 2010 with the intention to capture the daily lives of New Yorkers. He later started adding quotes from interviews with his subjects to their pictures.
