Aaron Hernandez Court Live Stream: Probable Cause Hearing, Prosecution To Reveal Evidence Against Ex-Patriot (WATCH)

Former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez is due in court on Thursday at 2 p.m. EDT for a probable cause hearing, where the prosecution is expected to reveal its evidence against the ex-NFL player. Watch the live stream HERE or HERE.

*UPDATE (2:30 p.m. ET): District court's probable cause hearing rescheduled to Friday, Aug. 30. Shortly before the hearing, a grand jury indicted Hernandez on six charges, including first-degree murder.

Hernandez appeared in court last month for his original probable cause hearing, which a judge delayed at the prosecution's request. The prosecution filed for a continuance at the last hearing to gain more time to present evidence to the grand jury.

In a probable cause hearing, the prosecution presents its case against the defendant to a judge, who then must determine whether there is sufficient reason to believe a crime was committed by the defendant. The hearing is typically a formality in murder cases.

Hernandez could also find out whether a grand jury has issued an indictment, which would send his case to trial.

The prosecution alleges Hernandez orchestrated and executed the murder of Odin Lloyd. Hernandez is charged with first-degree murder and five gun-related offenses.

If the prosecution lays out its evidence against Hernandez on Thursday, some light could be shed on the investigation of Hernandez's possible involvement in an unsolved 2012 double homicide in Boston. Authorities found the murder weapon used in the double murder, according to CBS 3 Springfield, but it's uncertain whether the weapon has been positively linked to Hernandez.

Recently released court documents also suggest that authorities believe Hernandez's fiancée, Shayanna Jenkins, may have hid the gun used in Lloyd's shooting death.

Hernandez, who has been held without bail since June 26, pleaded not guilty. His attorneys categorized the Commonwealth's case as "circumstantial" and are confident he will be exonerated.
