Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his new girlfriend Ciara are practicing abstinence for religious reasons. Over the weekend Russell went on "The Rock Church" with San Diego pastor Miles McPherson and spoke about his new relationship with the singer and their decision to not sleep together.
"She was on tour, and I was looking at her in the mirror, and God spoke to me," Wilson told the pastor. "He said, 'I need you to lead her.' I told her, 'What would you do if we took all that 'extra stuff' off the table, and just did it Jesus' way?'"
Wilson said the 29-year-old singer "completely agreed," though he admitted that refraining from sex wasn't easy. "I ain't gonna lie to y'all now - I need you to pray for us," he told the congregation. "I know y'all have seen her on the screen. If there's a 10, she's a 15."
Both Wilson and Ciara are recently single. Wilson married his high school sweetheart in 2012 before getting divorced two years later, according to CBS Sports. The "One, Two Step" singer was engaged to rapper Future before she discovered he was having an ongoing affair with his stylist, according to Us Weekly.
