Google addresses multi-touch issues on its latest 7-inch Nexus 7 with a new software update aimed at fixing all reported problems.
Several early reports outlined the multi-touch issues with Google's own Android-based Nexus 7 tablet, but the company is working hard to address these issues and has already begun rolling out a patch for the reported problems. According to reports on Google's product forum, several users commented about problems with multi-touch feature on their Nexus 7 with erratic responses to touches like pinching the screen to zoom-in or trying to move items with two fingers.
Google was quick to respond with a fix. The company decided to roll out a new update that will fix all aforementioned problems.
"As a couple of you have mentioned, there's a new system update that's started rolling out for your Nexus 7s," Paul Wilcox, Google community manager for Android, wrote in a response statement on Google's product forum. "This update does address the touch-screen issues discussed in this thread."
Prior to Wilcox's latest comment, several users tried exchanging the device, attempted to restore it to an earlier time assuming an app may have caused the problem or even resetting it, but found that the problems still persisted.
Prior to this, the new Nexus 7 reported problems with GPS signal that worked for a short duration and then shut down completely. News reports suggest that the new build JSS15Q, which is reportedly rolling out, will also fix the GPS signal issues as well.
"Thank you for your patience while we've been working on this," Wilcox added. "As Justin mentioned, there is a new over-the-air update for Nexus 7 rolling out now that addresses the GPS issue discussed here. We look forward to hearing feedback about your GPS experience after you've received the update."
