It was only a matter of time before the conservative former View host was scooped up by one of the leading conservative networks.
Fox News announced on Friday that Elisabeth Hasselbeck will co-host morning show "Fox & Friends," along with Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade, beginning Sept. 16.
"Elisabeth's warm and engaging personality made her a star on 'The View,'" Chairman and CEO of Fox Roger Ailes said in July, when Hasselbeck reported that she'd be leaving 'View.' "She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist, and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise."
Hasselbeck called being added to the Fox News lineup an "honor."
The 36-year-old television host made her mark on the largely left-leaning hosts of "The View" for her right-wing ideals and outspoken nature.
In 2007, while Rosie O'Donnell briefly co-hosted the show, the two women locked horns in a heated argument over the war in Iraq after O'Donnell called US troops "terrorists."
"Here's how it gets spun in the media-'Big, fat, lesbian, loud, Rosie, attacks innocent, pure, Christian Elizabeth," O'Donnell said, her voice steeped in anger, during the argument.
For four minutes, the Hasselbeck and O'Donnell engaged in an all-out yelling match, stunning the audience-along with Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd-into silence.
