Cameron Monaghan, who fans of Fox's "Gotham" know as a potential young Joker, shared a black-and-white photo to his Instagram yesterday that strongly hinted at a season two appearance.
Monaghan is flashing the Joker's classic Cheshire grin but is still listed under his season one villain name "Jerome." However, the Joker has been teased for the series several times and even made his way into the second season's official synopsis.
Showrunner Bruno Heller has said that the second season is "the very earliest origins of how the Joker came to be," so fans wouldn't be all that shocked if "Jerome" soon started going by another J-laced moniker. Monaghan's Instagram post sure seems to suggest that, at least.
"Gotham" will return to Fox on Monday, Sept. 21 at 8 pm EST.
