Keith Richards Announces Solo Album, First In More Than 20 Years

Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones announced today that he will release his first solo album in more than 20 years on Sept. 18. The album will be called "Crosseyed Heart," and on July 17 its first single, "Trouble," will be unveiled, according to Richards' website.

Richards and his longtime drummer Steve Jordan wrote and produced the majority of the album, according to Rolling Stone, which added that guitarist Waddy Wachtel and Stones backup singer Bernard Fowler also worked on the album.

"I had a ball making this new record and working with Steve Jordan and Waddy Wachtel again," Richards said in a statement, according to Rolling Stone. "There's nothing like walking into a studio and having absolutely no idea what you're going to come out with on the other end. If you're looking for 'Trouble,' you've come to the right place."

Richards' most recent solo record, "Main Offender," was released in 2002, according to AllMusic.

The Rolling Stones' "Zip Code' tour wraps up in Quebec on July 15.
