Bo Derek does not think aging is fair at all. The 58-year-old actress recently sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss being a former sex symbol and her new movie, "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No."
It was more than 35 years ago that Derek became a sensation thanks to the movie "10." The actress famously ran out of the ocean wearing a nude swimsuit and braids in her hair.
The actress said she is finding peace with getting older, but there are some parts she could do without. "I feel I'm aging like other people, I feel it's not fair. I don't mind the years. I just mind the look. I miss my skin," she said.
Derek also said she, obviously, does not play the same parts that she used to: "I've been a producer. I wouldn't cast me in a lot anymore. At the same time, I'm guilty too. I like to look at younger faces on the screen, and most of our stories are told by younger people because they're the ones that would make a difference in a plot or story line most of the time."
While the actress is getting older, it has not slowed her down. Derek has been dating "Sex and the City" actor John Corbett since 2002, according to Yahoo. "He's funny. He makes me laugh all the time," she said of why their relationship has lasted 13 years. "We talk about [marriage] sometimes but we don't have children and we're not young, so there isn't that pressure or need to get married."
Derek stars in "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No" as Tara Reid's character's mother. The movie will air July 22 on Syfy, according to ABC News.
