Kelly Ripa's Blue Hair: 'My Sons Think I Look Like A Superhero' (SEE IT!)

First Kelly Ripa had pink hair. Now, the usually blonde beauty has dyed her hair a bright teal blue color.

The 44-year-old "Live! With Kelly and Michael" co-host debuted her blue hair on the show this morning after first sharing a photo of it last night on her Instagram. "Shady's back, tell a friend..." she captioned the photo, tagging her hairstylist Ryan Trygstad.

Unfortunately, the awesome color won't be around for long. "What's sad is I get two shampoos and it's back to normal," she told co-host Michael Strahan on the show, according to E! News."This took almost five hours. I wanted to try blue because I wanted to try pink and I really liked it."

Strahan admitted that he was completely shocked when he first saw her. Her stylist wanted to dye it a color like blue for that exact reason—to shock people.

"It turned a lime green," said Ripa about the first batch of color applied to her tresses. "And Mark [Consuelos, her husband] walks upstairs and he's like, 'Oh, my gosh, you look like the Lucky Charms guy.'"

Trygstad also shared two photos to his Instagram of the blue 'do. "Why not stage #2," the caption of the first photo read. The second photo was a close-up shot of her beautiful hair. "The healthiest hair in the world ;) @kellyripa What color is next???" he wrote.

He got his inspiration for the "superhero blue" shade, which is a layered style of five custom blue tones from teal to midnight, from Pinterest. "We love looking for inspiration on there," he told People. He also revealed that he never knows what she has planned for her hair until the day of their session when he gets a text from her. "I just do what she says!" he continued. "But I think she'll eventually go grey. We'll see."

Once they finally had the color right, she asked her sons for their opinion. "My sons love it. They think I look like a superhero," she said on the show. She then asked her husband again "and he was like, 'I like the cut!' He doesn't like outrageous hair color, but I don't care. I'm like, 'I'm your new wife, Blueberry.'"
