Former Miss Nevada Katherine Nicole Rees was charged with possessing and selling crystal meth in Las Vegas. Rees, 30, was stripped of her crown in 2007 after sexually explicit pictures of her surfaced online, reported the New York Daily News.
On Monday, the former beauty queen was charged with trafficking a controlled substance, sale of a controlled substance and two counts of conspiracy to violate the uniform controlled substance act, People confirmed.
This incident was not the first time Rees had faced allegations of drug use. In 2009 she was questioned by Sydney customs officials after swabs of her bag and laptop tested positive for cocaine. Rees was on a show in Australia where she said, "I don't do drugs, I don't use cocaine. I don't use any kind of pill, no kind of Xanax, no anything. I don't use anything." She was released without being charged.
In 2012, she pleaded guilty to a single misdemeanor drug charge in exchange for prosecutors to drop other, more serious charges, including unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of one ounce or less of marijuana. She was sentenced to undergo drug counseling, reported the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Rees was carrying 3.5 grams of crystal meth when she was arrested.
