New York Yankees Vs. Tampa Bay Rays Live Stream: Can Alex Rodriguez Continue To Spark NYY? (WATCH)

The New York Yankees meet the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday in the first game of their series. The game starts at 7:10 p.m. ET. Watch the live stream HERE.

New York (68-59) looks to continue its recent streak when they visit Tampa Bay. The Yankees have won 11 of their last 14 games, pushing the team to just 3 1/2 games out of the final AL wildcard spot, according to the Associated Press.

"We're feeling good about ourselves, and you knew this was going to happen," Andy Pettitte told AP reporters. "It was just a matter of when, and you hope it's not too late."

Part of the Yankees' resurgence has been the return to the lineup of embattled slugger Alex Rodriguez. New York's anemic offense has sparked to life since his return - in his 17 games back, New York has hit 21 homers while batting .290 and averaging 5.4 runs per game.

New York faces stiff competition from the Rays, who are one game behind the Boston Red Sox from claiming the top spot in the AL East. Tampa Bay (72-53) has won six of their previous eight games and boast an 18-of-23 record at home.

Helping the Rays chase after the No. 1 spot in the AL East is pitcher Chris Archer, who's slated to start on Friday. Archer (6-5, 2.95 ERA) gave up only one run in 15 innings to the Yankees this season.

"Regardless of the venue or team, I'm trying to go out there and accomplish the same goal every day: Be mindful of every pitch (and keep) my team in the game as long as I possibly can," Archer told the AP.

Hiroki Kuroda (11-8, 2.41) will take the mound for the Yankees. He went 2-1 against the Rays last year, but posted a 6.11 ERA in those games.
