British singer Ellie Goulding may or may not be next in line to lend her voice to "James Bond" film franchise. After rumors swirled last week that Goulding was the first choice for the spot, she posted two cryptic messages on social media that fueled more speculation, the Daily Mail reports.
The first hint was on Goulding's Twitter page, where she just left the vague post "Live and let die," a reference to Paul McCartney's song of the same title for the 1973 film.
That same day, the singer posted a photo of herself on Instagram behind the microphone in an undisclosed recording studio.
"Joe caught this moment where we got really excited so much so that I couldn't sing," the 28-year-old artist wrote in the caption.
The messages seem to confirm the rumor that started last week, when fellow Brit pop star Sam Smith let the cat out of the bag.
"People seem to think I'm doing it but I have no idea what's going on. I'm being deadly serious," Smith told UK hit radio station Capital FM. "I think I would know by now. I heard Ellie Goulding was going to do it, it's definitely not me."
Other artists that were contenders for the chance to record the theme song for the 2015 James Bond film "Spectre" include Smith, Ed Sheeran, Lana Del Rey, Rita Ora and One Direction, according to NME.
