When a couple in Kentucky broke up, their dog, named Sebastian, was left at the Daviess County Animal Control in Owensboro because neither of them wanted to keep him. The 3-year-old dog was devastated when he was abandoned by his family, whom he spent his life with since he was still a puppy.
"All they really told us is that neither one of them could keep him," a shelter representative said, according to The Dodo.
Sebastian looked scared and confused when he was left in the shelter. He spent two months waiting for a family, trying to move on with other abandoned dogs.
In most cases, when parents split up, they would fight over custody of pets, but unfortunately, for Sebastian, no one wanted him.
"He was a little timid the first few days," the shelter representative said. But later on, Sebastian got used in the shelter and started showing his sweet side. "He was just super sweet with everybody ... he seemed pretty happy-go-lucky."
Sebastian wasn't meant to be sad and confused for long, because after posting him on Daviess County Animal Control Urgents' Facebook page, many showed interest on him and was adopted by a new family.
A two-hour drive brought Sebastian's new mom to the shelter to pick him up to live with her. Sebastian will be joining other three dogs that already lived with his new family.
