Manchester City looks to continue from its impressive 4-0 season-opening win against Newcastle. New boss Manuel Pellegrini had a busy offseason with the recruitment of Jesus Navas, Fernandinho and Alvaro Negredo, ESPN reports. The depth of the Man City roster this season poises a challenge for any team.
"I look at the players they [City] have coming off the bench and the impact they have as well. They are a top team," Cardiff manager Malky Mackay said, via IBTimes.com. "We have got to try and make our stadium a fortress. We have to make sure that it is a tough ask for any team that comes down to our stadium. We will have a tough team coming, top teams coming here and it will be a test for us, but we are relishing that.
Despite a 2-0 opening match loss to West Ham United, Pellegrini isn't underestimating his opponent.
"We know Cardiff are a very difficult team," Pellegrini said, via IBTimes.com. "We know they are at home and are in the first season. We will need to play an excellent game without errors to get another three points. We are trying to play everywhere the way I think is better for us. We played a very good game in the way I want this team to play."
