Donald Trump has been in the middle of some controversy in the United States over the past few months, and now his polarizing reputation has reached those south of the border. The presidential hopeful has been outspoken with his views on immigrants, especially ones from Mexico. Trump's opinion on the matter hurt a few of his business ventures, and apparently the feelings of Mexican drug lord and recent prison escapee "El Chapo" (Joaquin Guzman Loera). Over Twitter, Loera threatened to harm Trump, according to TMZ.
The tweet that was sent from @ElChap0Guzman and, translated in English, says:
"Keep f***ing around and I'm gonna make you swallow your bitch words you f***ing whitey milks***tter (that's a homophobic slur)," TMZ reports.
Trump has contacted the FBI regarding the threat. He told TMZ that the threat is not only one on his life, but on the United States.
"I'm fighting for much more than myself," Trump said. "I'm fighting for the future of our country which is being overrun by criminals. You can't be intimidated. It's too important."
The death threat came as a response to a series of tweets Trump sent out over the weekend after the news of "El Chapo" escaping a Mexican prison for the second time broke:
Mexico's biggest drug lord escapes from jail. Unbelievable corruption and USA is paying the price. I told you so!

Can you envision Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton negotiating with 'El Chapo', the Mexican drug lord who escaped from prison? .... — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 13, 2015
...Trump, however, would kick his ass!

Now that the Mexican drug lord escaped from prison, everyone is saying that most of the cocaine etc. coming into the U.S. comes over border! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 13, 2015
.....but that's what I've been saying. Very unfair treatment by the media!

The U.S. will invite El Chapo, the Mexican drug lord who just escaped prison, to become a U.S. citizen because our "leaders" can't say no! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 13, 2015
Although Loera's son had been running the Twitter page that sent out the death threat to Trump, it is believed that since escaping prison "El Chapo" has been in control of the account, according to Daily Mail.
