Dolly Parton Finds Her Younger Version For NBC’s ‘Coat Of Many Colors’

Dolly Parton has found her mini-me. NBC announced on Monday that it had cast 7-year-old Alyvia Lind to play a young version of the country superstar in the TV movie, "Coat of Many Colors."

Parton will serve as an executive producer on the movie that chronicles her life as a child growing up in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Inspired by her true story, the film follows the tight-knit Parton family as they struggle to overcome devastating tragedy and discover the healing power of love, faith, and a raggedy patchwork coat that helped make Parton who she is today.

The TV movie is not technically a biopic nor is it a musical about the 69-year-old singer-actress' life or her performing career. The story focuses on her life in 1955, around age 9, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Lind most recently starred in the Will Ferrell-Kristen Wiig Lifetime movie, "A Deadly Adoption" and appears this season on Showtime's "Masters of Sex." Her other credits include "The Young and the Restless," "Revenge" and "Transparent."

The young actress was surprised during the call-back audition when Parton called her personally to tell her that she had won the part, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Coat of Many Colors" is one of a select number of movies that Parton will executive produce for the network.

NBC has not yet scheduled an air date for "Coat of Many Colors."
