A tiny café in the Australian capital city of Canberra is gaining international recognition for its exaggerated milkshakes that has sent foodies everywhere into a frenzy.
Pâtissez, a 52-day-old café that serves eclectic and outrageous sweet treats, is co-owned by Anna Patridis and her mother Gina.
The milkshakes, dubbed the "Freakshow," currently have four available flavors. They are Salty Nutz, Muddy Pat, French Vanilla and Nutella and Salty Pretzel and they assured that more flavors will come soon, News.com.au reported.
Patidris explains that every element that goes into each shake is house made, with the exception of the Nutella Pretzel, and that there is a limit as to how much they can serve in a day because of the long line of people who wait for the milkshakes.
"With the shakes, a lot of love & care go into putting each one together so please be patient," they wrote on one of their posts on Instagram.
The "Freakshow" shakes were the brainchild of Patidris, explaining that she wanted to make a drinks menu that is "so ridiculous and over-the-top" that it would make people take a photo of it first before they eat it.
"Social media these days is a really important part of life, so it'd be crazy not to harness that power when it comes to business," Patidris told ABC News.
And it seems that it is a strategy that has worked in the mother and daughter's favor, as now they are able to sell 250 a day since they opened a few weeks ago.
