Check out the Ecocapsule - the self-sustaining, portable pod of approximately 120 sq.ft., that can be placed anywhere with solar and wind power.
"With its immense off-grid life span, worldwide portability and flexibility, it is suitable for a wide range of applications: from an independent research station or a tourist lodge to an emergency housing or a humanitarian-action unit," the company writes on its website, according to Mashable.
The sleek, egg-shaped capsule resembles a spaceship, complete with antennae and a layer of futuristic cells, and can be cozy enough for up to two people. Every possible off-the-grid angle has been covered to make the Ecocapsule functional no matter how far afield you take it, Huffington Post reports.
Ecocapsule's power comes from its 28 sq. ft. solar cells on its roof and a built-in 750W wind turbine.
It may look tiny on the outside, but inside, there is space for a folding bed, a functional bathroom and toilet, a dining or working table, and a kitchenette convenient enough for cooking hot meals.
The Slovakian group behind the design, Nice Architects, has been developing the project for six years. It was revealed to the public at a recent design festival, and already, pre-orders are reaching to thousands as the buzz excites interested buyers and even celebrities, according to CNN.
