Kate Gosselin Lawsuit: 'Jon and Kate Plus 8' Star Suing Ex-Husband For Multi-Millions Over Tell-All Book, 'Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World'

Once a beloved TLC reality show couple, Jon and Kate Gosselin are now pitted against each other in a brutal, highly publicized battle, and Radar Online reports that Kate is suing her ex-husband for millions of dollars, alleging that he conspired with author Robert Hoffman on the tell-all book, "Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World."

"After the couple was separated, Jon illegally hacked into Kate's email account and her phone and bank accounts," the suit claims, according to Radar's sources. "Jon also stole a hard drive from Kate's house, which contained private and confidential material. Jon the gave them the contents of Kate's email account and the hard drive, all of which were acquired illegality, to his friend and business partner, tabloid reporter Robert Hoffman. Hoffman used the illegally acquired data to publish a defamatory book about Kate...the book was removed from large distributors like Amazon.com because the information was obtained illegally."

Back in November 2011, the long-running reality show on the ordinary couple raising their fraternal twins and sextuplets, "Jon & Kate Plus 8," (later renamed "Kate Plus 8" after Jon left) was cancelled after the Gosselins separated and later divorced in 2009. The new tell-all book claims to know how much the reality star mama made per episode, its mission set to expose Kate and all of her wrongdoings over the course of the show's seven seasons.

"Jon violated a federal anti-hacking statute in order to publish salacious, scandalous and defamatory information about Kate," her lawyer A. Jordan Rushie told the Associated Press. "It's damaged her reputation."

Kate's lawsuit accuses Jon of identity theft, wiretapping and invacy of privacy, with Hoffman, Jon's business partner, also named as a defendant in the case. However, this isn't the first time the Gosselins have been involved in legal battles. Back during the run of their show, the couple were investigated for possibly violated child labor laws in filming their docu-series, and Jon has accused is ex-wife of being an "absentee mother," having fought for custody during her appearance on "Dancing With the Stars."

The interests of the Gosselins' children have never seemed to be in the best interests of their parents, who would rather duke it out in court over rumors and allegations rather than focus on the kids' well-being and what this public fight may be doing to them psychologically.
