Sony has introduced a new stylish compact NEX-5T camera with interchangeable lenses and NFC (Near Field Communication) one-touch capability and a lot more features.
Sony, one of the world's leading entertainment companies, has announced a new addition to its wide range of best-quality cameras. The NEX-5T is Sony's new compact camera with a stylish sleek look and interchangeable lenses with NFC (Near Field Communication) one-touch and Wi-Fi sharing capabilities. The pocket-sized camera also features a large sensor for best quality pictures, swift Hybrid AF and several add-ons with PlayMemories Camera Apps.
Sony has proven its best imaging qualities over and over again with its highly capable DSLRs and digital cameras. The newest Sony camera takes a page from its DSLR editions by adding high-resolution 16.1 megapixel Exmor® APS HD CMOS sensor. The larger sensor enhances the picture quality, comparable to DSLRs, by taking more light during image capture and recording full HD videos.
To push the envelope even further, Sony added advanced speedy Hybrid Auto Focus (AF) for accurate focusing under any situation. The feature, which was also seen in last year's NEX-5R, "combines phase-detection autofocus to track fast-moving subjects with contrast-detection AF for absolute precision," according to the company.
With the growing demand to stay socially connected, Sony has integrated NFC one-touch wireless connectivity, the first Sony interchangeable lens camera to have this feature, along with Wi-Fi sharing capabilities. The NFC feature allows instant sharing of images between the camera and compatible Android smartphones and tablets. A touch will automatically activate the feature and images will be stored on the connected device, allowing users to share via social media.
The 180 degree rotatable LCD screen is an added benefit for selfies to take clearer pictures.
A wide range of free or paid downloadable PlayMemories Camera Apps helps in improving the pictures with effects and subtle changes.
"A brand-new Lens Compensation app lets expert users save and apply subtle image corrections for different lenses. Adjustable correction can be applied to compensate for peripheral shading, chromatic aberration and barrel/pincushion distortion," read the press release.
The Sony NEX-5T will hit the store shelves in early September with a price tag of $700, which also includes a 16-50mm motorized zoom lens. Consumers can also purchase just the camera without the additional lens for about $550. The camera will arrive in three color variants including silver, black and white.
