When it comes to Tim Tebow, knowledgeable fans fall into one of two camps. There are those that believe his nontraditional quarterback mechanics are unsustainable and he has no place being on an NFL roster. And then there are those that believe his athleticism and will to win can make him successful in certain packages.
Regardless of which side of the Tebow line you stand on, one thing is for certain: he is a moneymaker.
Tebow's jersey was the 16th best selling uniform in the NFL last month, according to The Morning Call. That's a better sales performance than established stars such as Ndamukong Suh (17), Marshawn Lynch (20) and Tony Romo (24). Tebow's popularity among fans is even more jaw dropping when you remember that he hasn't taken a meaningful snap in three years. Yet there he is, selling jerseys like stadium hotdogs.
None of this means he'll make the Philadelphia Eagles' roster, of course. But Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie and the NFL have to be happy with the money Tebow's presence in the league is generating.
