Nikki Reed has been hospitalized in San Diego following Comic-Con after a long week of traveling.
The 27-year-old "Twilight" actress was rushed to the emergency room for urgent treatment after she claimed that she was having throat problems, which doctors said was most likely because of exhaustion and dehydration, according to New York Daily News.
"Nikki said that it was probably because she's been flying so much for work," one source said. "She's been to 20 cities in eight days for work obligations."
Reed flew to Atlanta after she was released to spend time with her husband, Ian Somerhalder, who is currently filming there. The couple tied the knot in April after being engaged for just three months.
Once together after her quick health scare, Reed and Somerhalder went to Nashville to attend a launch party for Bonnie Rose white whiskey. One party-goer said that Reed "was a bit more soft-spoken" after her time in the hospital but still "danced to country music performances and sipped on Bonnie Rose cocktails." Her voice was gone again by the time they left the party, and she is recovering just fine.
This all just comes days after it was announced that Reed would be joining the cast for the third season of Fox's "Sleepy Hollow," according to The Hollywood Reporter. She will be playing a sexy character with unsuspecting physical prowess.
"We are all very excited to welcome Nikki Reed into the world of 'Sleepy Hollow,'" said Len Wiseman, co-creator and executive producer of the show. "Nikki's the perfect choice to bring a smart and sexy edge to our show's twisted version of American icon, Betsy Ross."
