Maine Shootings: Gunman Sought After Four People Were Shot In Three Communities

State police are searching for a gunman following the shootings of four people in three different communities in northern Maine.

Four people were shot overnight in the towns of Lee, Benedicta and Silver Ridge, said Steve McCausland of the Maine Department of Public Safety on Friday. There was no immediate word on their conditions. He said the search is concentrated in the Lee area, reports ABC News.

The suspect has been identified as Anthony Lord, 35, of Crystal and Houlton, Maine. He is described as 5-feet-9-inches tall and 263 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. He is a registered sex offender in Maine and is considered armed and dangerous.

Police believe Lord has stolen a 2010 maroon Peterbilt pulp truck with green lettering on the side that reads "McCarthy" and an orange-colored boom. The truck has a Maine commercial plate, with the license number 631745, reports NECN.

The names of the shooting victims were not immediately known. A command post has been set up at Lee Academy, reports Fox News.

Anyone with information on Lord or the location of the pulp truck is asked to call state police in Bangor at 207-973-3700.
