The top athletes in sports strolled down Nickelodeon's signature orange carpet on Thursday night for the second annual Kids Choice Sports Awards in hopes of receiving one of the coveted orange mohawked blimps.
Mega-sports stars Stephen Curry, Alex Morgan, Lindsey Vonn and Marshawn Lynch all took home the orange hardware with votes from their young fans. Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson hosted the sports slime-fest at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles
Screaming fans from the bleachers aligning the arrivals carpet nearly made it one of the loudest award show red carpets in history. Most athletes were more than happy to snap photos and sign autographs.
Golden States Warriors player Klay Thompson worked up quite a sweat on the arrivals carpet doing what he does best - slam dunking! However, his attempts to target shoot footballs only proved why he should stick to the hard court.
The awards show also gave Nickelodeon stars the chance to rub shoulders with their favorite athletes. Many also served as presenters for the evening.
"Getting to come to these things is one of the perks of working at Nick," '100 Things to Do Before High School' star Owen Joyner told Headlines & Global News exclusively. "I'm looing forward to seeing Stephen Curry and Abby Womback as I'm a soccer dude."
'Bella and the Bulldogs' star Lilimar Hernandez echoed those same thoughts.
"It's such a great event to bond with everyone and just hang with friends and athletes," Hernandez said.
By all appearances, toddlers were the ultimate red carpet accessory for the night. NBA champion Stephen Curry brought his scene-stealing daughter Riley and 2015 Legend Award recipient Derek Jeter walked the carpet with his nephew Jalen.
WNBA star Candice Parker, a Best Female Athlete nominee, also made the event a family affair.
"This is such a great event to be a kid for the evening and you to bring the family along, this is a lot of fun," she told HNGN. "I'm looking forward to someone getting slimed but not me. I've been slimed and it's cold and watery, and I'm not really wearing the outfit to be slimed in."
Tito Ortiz may be an MMA and UFC champ, but he only needed to nab a few extra tickets for the ceremony for his children to be seen as a winner in their eyes.
"My kids begged me to take them to this so I made a couple of calls and pulled some strings," Ortiz told HNGN. "At the end of the day I'm a dad and I try to give my kids everything I never had as a kid."
Missed the Kids' Choice Sports Awards? Nickelodeon will air an encore on Friday, July 17 at 8 p.m. followed by replays over the weekend.
