Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones tried to tweet his way to a date with Ronda Rousey Wednesday at the ESPY Awards. The football player tweeted at the UCF champ to see if she was interested in meeting up after the ceremony.
Rousey saw the tweets and responded to the date request on Fox Sports Live, saying she would not have been able to hang out with the Ohio State quarterback because she had to get up early to train for her next fight against Bethe Correia. Although she had to say no to the date, she found Jones' admission that he was attracted to – and scared of her all at the same time – quite nice.
"I consider myself a badge of masculinity; if you can look like a man next to me, you're a real man," Rousey said.
Rousey won the "Best Female Athlete" award at the 2015 ESPY's. Jones was nominated for "Best Breakthrough Athlete" after the third string quarterback took the Ohio State Buckeyes to the National championship and won. Jones only played in three games, starting with the Big 10 championship after the first and second string QB's were injured during the regular season.
