50 Cent Bankruptcy: Rapper Owes Creditors Over $28 Million

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson released to a federal court on Thursday a list of his creditors, to which he owes his creditors exactly $28,478,920.75.

The rapper's biggest unpaid creditor is Sleek Audio, a Florida-based company that won an $18.4 million judgment against Jackson after claiming that he stole its design, The Wrap reported. Jackson had unsuccessfully appealed the ruling.

50 Cent filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy on Monday, only two months after Forbes estimated that his net worth was at $155 million, which ranked him number four on its list of wealthiest hip-hop artists. According to court documents filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Hartford, Conn., Jackson's "debts are primarily consumer debts." The rapper reported assets and liabilities ranging from $10-$50 million.

The "Southpaw" actor recently downplayed his money troubles by calling the bankruptcy a "precaution."

"I'm taking the precautions that any other good businessperson would take in this situation," the rapper told E! News at a "Southpaw" junket. "You know when you're successful and stuff, you become a target. I don't wanna be a bull's eye. I don't want anybody to pick me as the guy that they just come to with astronomical claims and go through all that."

50 Cent was very casual as he discussed his money troubles. "Walt Disney has filed bankruptcy. Donald Trump has filed bankruptcy," he said. "It means you're reorganizing your finances, but it does stop things from moving forward that you don't want moving forward. I gotta decent legal team. You don't have to worry."

Jackson's other debts included $1,737.33 that he owes to his grandfather, $137,880 to Bentley for the car he leased and more than $1 million in legal bills.
