Sam Smith Falls Off Segway, Concert Evacuated Due To Powerful Storm (PHOTO)

Even Sam Smith's powerful voice couldn't compete with the wind and rain storm during his concert, and to make matters worse, he fell off his Segway on the same day!

A powerful storm began while the singer was performing in Louisville, Ky. on Friday night, causing the event to be stopped mid-performance, according to the New York Daily News. The 23-year-old "Stay With Me" singer was headlining the first night of the three-day art and music Forecastle Festival.

Smith posted a photo of himself looking extremely sad, apologizing to his fans for the forecast. "Louisville!!!!!" he wrote, with two sad face emojis. "The drama is real right now!! Literally in the middle of Lay Me Down there was an electrical storm and I had to be taken off the stage and the whole festival had to evacuate. This KILLS me, because you guys were SO loud and incredible!!!!! You were so loud the heavens opened up haha. Gutted. But I do feel like Dorothy."

This was Smith's first performance since his three-month lay-off due to vocal cord surgery, according to MTV News. Despite the super hot day, he took the stage with a huge smile on his face and sounded amazing as always.

"This is also a very special night for me because three months ago I had surgery on my throat and this is my first time back," he told the crowd.

It took less than 35 minutes for the performance to come to a halt due to a thunderstorm, which came out of nowhere. "Forecastle has stopped Sam Smith in mid-performance and asked spectators to leave b/c of severe weather. From WDRB's Dalton Main," WDRB tweeted at the time of the event. No injuries were reported, but the storm did result in several downed trees and power outages, and everyone was advised to "stay home."

As if this wasn't enough bad news for the singer, he also suffered a slight injury earlier in the day. "& to make matters worse. I fell off a f**king Segway thing today," he captioned a selfie of him looking sad, once again, with his hand being iced. "And I think I've sprained my hand. Got this s**t on ICE right now. Kills."

He posted another photo of himself on stage during the festival with the caption, "Last night. We took Louisville by storm," and they literally did.

The festival will continue today as scheduled, but Smith will not be finishing his performance.
