The future for the Milwaukee Bucks looks very bright right now after making the playoffs as the sixth seed last year and signing Greg Monroe in free agency. While Monroe is a big signing for them, the main reason their future is so bright is because of the man they call the "Greek Freak," Giannis Antetokounmpo. At just 20 years old, Antetokounmpo is already a budding superstar in the NBA, and he said this week that he wants to be a Milwaukee Buck for the rest of his career, according to eurohoops.net.
Antetokounmpo writes a blog for eurohoops.net, and he decided to write about his future. He talked about how the Bucks gave him his start in the NBA while calling them his basketball family.
"From my side, I feel that I want to be playing in the Bucks. I'm not talking about my next contract. The way I feel now, I want to keep playing for the Milwaukee Bucks for the next 20 years!" wrote Antetokounmpo.
He later went on to say that he wasn't sure how he is going to feel in five years, but as of right now, he has nothing but great things to say about the Bucks and their organization. This has to be great news for the Bucks and their fans, as Antetokounmpo is a rare type of player that is already very good but has shown signs of becoming great at such a young age.
Antetokounmpo also wrote about big markets and how he isn't really into the whole glamorous lifestyle.
"I'm a guy who doesn't really care about glamour and big markets. I like to be home all day. I get up in the morning, I take a shower and I go to practice. When I'm finished, the only thing that's on my mind is to go back home and spend time with my family. I usually feel that I prefer to hide from people," wrote Antetokounmpo.
Antetokounmpo is a 6 foot-11 small forward that showed amazing growth from year one to year two in the NBA. He is a do-it-all type of player who is best on the defensive side of the ball where he uses his length to bother opponents shots, but he has also shown an ability to make plays on offense.
Last season, Antetekounmpo averaged 12.7 points per game while shooting 49 percent from the field, and that should only improve as the years go on. He did only shoot 16 percent from three, but he also only attempted 44 shots from beyond the arc, as Jason Kidd has tried to get him to go the rim more. In his rookie season, Antetokounmpo shot more threes and was more successful as he made 35 percent, so he is capable of knocking down triples.
Antetokounmpo is already an overall beast on the court, as he can do everything you would want a star player to do. It is scary to think that he is only 20 and is already among the best players in the NBA. The Bucks found a great one in the "Greek Freak," and he seems very happy there. So as long as they continue to do what they have been doing with him, they will get to continue to watch him blossom into one of the biggest superstars in the league in Milwaukee.
