Ben Affleck was chosen as the new Batman in the second installment of "Man of Steel." The "Argo" actor will star opposite Henry Cavill as the new "Caped Crusader" in the movie scheduled to be released in 2015.
Many fans were upset over the news that Affleck was chosen as the new Batman. Now a fake trailer posted on YouTube by Solyentbrak1 has surfaced that gives fan a glimpse at how well his performance can be, NBC reports. The "trailer" takes clips from movies like "Daredevil" and "State to Play."
"Justice doesn't discriminate," he says in the trailer. "It comes as cold and bracing, leaving you with a chill you can't shake."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Affleck signed a deal to star as Batman for the next several movies and is supposed to direct one of the movies. Even though fans were shocked Affleck was picked as Batman, the process to get him in the cape and cowl reportedly began earlier in the year.
"Sources say that Affleck has been signed for multiple movies, should sequels continue to proliferate," The Hollywood Reporter says. "The talks were so secretive that many Warner execs and WME agents remained unaware of their existence."
The decision however, angered Justice League fans who immediately began a petition for Warner Bros. to get rid of the actor. As The Hollywood Reporter points out, fans also were upset when Heath Ledger was cast as The Joker and when Michael Keaton was cast as the lead in Tim Burton's "Batman."
Affleck is receiving some positive feedback following the decision.
"Affleck will crush it. He's got the chops, he's got the chin - just needs the material. Affleck and Cavill toe to toe - I'm in," Joss Whedon, who directed The Avengers tweeted.
