Poison drummer Rikki Rockett filed for divorce from Melanie Martel, reported TMZ. The rocker reportedly wants to make sure his soon-to-be ex-wife sticks to the prenup the couple signed before they tied the knot.
In documents obtained by TMZ, the '80s rock star doesn't want his wife to get any more money in spousal support than the undisclosed amount that was previously agreed upon in their prenuptial agreement. The couple was married for seven years.
Rockett and Martel wed in October 2008 and have two children together, 6-year-old son Jude and 2-year-old daughter Lucy. Rockett reportedly requested joint custody of the kids, according to Contact Music.
Along with the news of their split, they also put their home up for sale, reported the Daily Mail. The 5-acre property boasts a 3,794-square-foot house in the Castaic area of northern Los Angeles, and is currently listed for $1.3 million. Rockett purchased the property in 2011 for $665,000 and the home was custom built in 2001, featuring five bedrooms, hardwood floors, granite kitchen countertops, walk-in closets and two fireplaces.
Born Richard Allan Ream, Rockett rose to fame in the '80s hair metal band Poison and contributed to power ballad hits like "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and "Something to Believe In."
