It's only been four years since country superstars Blake Shleton and Miranda Lambert got married, but their union has sadly come to an end—they are getting divorced.
The couple filed the documents in Oklahoma a while ago and a judge will be making the divorce official today, reported TMZ. Shelton, 39, is the one who filed, but the reason behind his decision has not yet been revealed.
Shelton and Lambert have worked out all of their financial arrangements, which was easy due to their prenup. He will be getting their ranch in Oklahoma, and Lambert, 31, will be getting the family home in Nashville. Over the last few days, she has been moving her show animals off the ranch.
"This is not the future we envisioned and it is with heavy heart that we move forward separately," they said in a statement to Us Weekly. "We are real people, with real lives, with real family, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter."
Over the past two years, rumors of marriage trouble have been going around, according to the New York Daily News. Many reports said his drinking and flirting habits were to blame. However, they always denied these rumors and said they were not splitting—until now.
Just seven months ago, amid divorce rumors, Lambert declared to Marie Claire, "I'm not sunshine and roses. Blake's the happiest person on the planet. He pulls me out of my darkness.... Literally, everything is the best about being married."
The country music power couple, who have several collaborations, met in 2005 at CMT's 100 Greatest Duets Concert when Shelton was still married to his first wife, Kaynette Gern. He and Gern divorced the next year, and he began dating Lambert shortly after and they married in 2011.
