Ginger Zee is having a boy.
The "Good Morning America" chief meteorologist and her husband Ben Aaron revealed they are expecting a baby boy during Tuesday's episode of the morning show.
"[I'm] excited, I'm happy to get it out there," the mom-to-be said before the big announcement. Aaron, an NBC news correspondent, added, "I honestly don't care [if it's a boy or girl] as long as it looks like her side of the family."
The parents-to-be made the creative announcement while standing in front of giant wooden blocks with Zee's fellow morning show co-hosts. At the end of a countdown, Zee and her co-host lifted the lids and releasing dozens of blue balloons. As the crowded cheered, Aaron is heard shouting, "A son."
"Good Morning America" also posted the exciting news on Twitter, sharing a photo of Zee and Aaron and writing, "It's a boy! Thanks for celebrating with us this morning!"
While the couple is excited about extending their family, both Zee and Aaron agree that they can't choose a name. Zee announced her pregnancy last month, but the TV personality, who is often known for her adventurous spirit, admitted that motherhood is a whole new and different adventure.
"All the other adventures promise you a return home," she said. "This is like when you get home the adventure's there. That's the big difference, it's why it's so emotional for me because I'll do anything but this scares me!"
Zee opened up to PEOPLE about her pregnancy and expectations for motherhood.
"I think I need to get a BabyBjörn that fits on a paraglider," Zee told PEOPLE after announcing her pregnancy. "Seriously though, we are elated to have the opportunity to be parents. Motherhood will absolutely be my most extreme adventure yet! Can't wait to teach it all my favorite meteorology terms."
