The dashboard camera video showing Sandra Bland's arrest by a Texas state trooper has several abnormalities, leading people on social media and various media outlets to question whether the dashcam video was manipulated or edited in some way.
The dashcam video reveals how a Texas state trooper initially pulled Bland over for allegedly failing to use her turn signal and how the situation then escalated, according to CNN.
After the video shows the initial traffic stop and arrest, there are several parts that appear to loop. One segment, clipped by journalist Ben Norton, shows the same man walking out:
Another clip shows a white car entering and disappearing from the frame over and over:
On top of the fact that Bland's death is now being treated as a murder investigation, what has social media in an uproar is the fact the visual glitches are extremely obvious, according to Vox.
The possibility still remains that the dashcam technology or YouTube could be experiencing some sort of glitch, but the irregularities also happen after Bland's arrest, so it's hard to determine what the police may be hiding.
What is certain, however, is that in a case still mired by questions about whether Bland truly committed suicide in her jail cell, these new videos are not working in the Texas authorities' favor.
