Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones may look like a 71-year old, talk like a 71-year old and walk like a 71-year old. However, he may not think like a 71-year old, according to the Dallas Morning News.
“I’ve been told that I have, by CAT Scans, that it’s like the brain of a 40-year-old,” Jones told the newspaper. “…The guy really did not know it was me. I was there anonymously. He said, ‘And so I just wanted to come down. I saw your chart. I know how old you are. That part is really impressive.’”
Jones’ hasn’t only been discussing his own mind recently, according to ESPNDallas.com. The Cowboys owner recently said on KRLD-FM sports radio that his quarterback Tony Romo had an offensive thinking prowess much like New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton.
Jones added that Hall of Fame coach Bill Parcells recently said it wouldn’t be a bad idea for Romo to have more input in the Cowboys offensive gameplan.
"Bill knows Tony well and he has always had a real appreciation for Romo's approach and his intellect relative to play calling relative to seeing and understanding the game," Jones told everyone listening to his weekly show. "He's unique in that way. In a way, Tony has some of the kind of skills you might see in a Sean Payton."
Many Cowboys fans are hoping both Jones’ and Romo’s brains can help figure out how to get the Cowboys a playoff win. As the Dallas Morning News points out, that’s an accomplishment the team has achieved only twice in the last 17 years.
