“Friends” star Lisa Kudrow will have a recurring role on ABC’s “Scandal” this fall, according to Deadline.com. Unfortunately for fans that’s where the spoiler stops.
“Scandal” creator Shonda Rhimes has not released anymore details concerning Kudrow’s role. It seems fans will have to wait for Kudrow to actually hit the small screen before they know what part she will play.
This is not surprising however since, as TVGuide.com points out, Rhimes is known for keeping show details close to the vest.
It will be interesting to see what type of role Kudrow plays, especially since she usually plays comedic parts such as Phoebe in “Friends,” Fiona in “Web Therapy” and Dr. Evans in “Cougar Town.”
Unless Kudrow’s going to be a funny politician, seeing her play a more serious part—especially one in a political thriller—could be a new experience for “Scandal” fans.
In other Scandal news, the cast recently told viewers that the first couple episodes will be fairly important, in interviews with EOnline.
Tony Goldwyn, who plays Fitz told the website, earlier this summer that he “has a line in episode two that will definitely break twitter.
"We are already planning t-shirts."
"Much merchandising and hash-tagging that one," Kerry Washington, who plays main character Olivia Pope, added.
Darby Stanchfield (Abby) also contributed to the suspense.
"I have read the first two scripts and I am in shock," she said. "There's some amazing flashback stuff that you thoughtyou knew the answers to but it's like ‘Whoa, that's what really happened?!?!''"
Moral of the story? If you’re a fan of Scandal and you miss the first two episodes, you’ll probably be sorry.
Season 2 of “Scandal” airs Oct. 3, 10/9c on ABC.
