Could history be repeating itself with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez? The answer - Maybe so!
It's been less than a month since Affleck and his wife Jennifer Garner announced that they were ending their decade-long marriage. Rumors about a possible Affleck and Lopez reconciliation have since spiraled out of control.
Several outlets reported that the 42-year-old "Batman" actor and the Latina artist, who broke up in 2004 after dating for 18 months, could have started talking again.
Well, Lopez's best friend, Leah Remini, is setting the record straight - sort of.
While stopping by "Watch What Happens Live" to promote her TLC reality series, "Leah Remini: It's All Relative," the former sitcom star was asked whether Lopez would ever get back together with her former lover following his split with Garner.
"I really don't know," Remini told host Andy Cohen while keeping quiet about her best friend's private life. "Even if I did, I probably wouldn't [say], because it would be weird for me to comment on people's lives. But no, not anything that I know of is...The guy is married and she's in a relationship."
Andy chimed in, asking if Lopez was "back with Casper [Smart]." The 45-year-old actress responded, saying, "No. I'm just saying that whatever's in the news is the data that we have. It's the data we're working with."
While both Affleck and Lopez married and divorced to different people following their split, the "Gone Girl" actor admitted that he still kept in touch with Lopez via email.
"We don't have the kind of relationship where she relies on me for advice, but we do have the kind of relationship where there'll be an email saying, 'Oh, your movie looks great,'" Affleck told The Hollywood Reporter in 2012. "I remember when she got American Idol. I said: 'This was really smart. Good luck.' I touch base. I respect her. I like her. She's put up with some stuff that was unfair in her life, and I'm really pleased to see her successful."
