Pro wrestling legend Hulk Hogan's career no longer exists, as far as the WWE is concerned. The wrestling entertainment company terminated the Hulkster's contract and scrubbed their website clean of all traces of him after an audio recording was released where the star allegedly went on a "racial tirade," according to Rolling Stone.
It was speculated that the reason for Hogan's removal from the site came after an audio clip emerged from the 61-year-old's 2012 radio interview on the "Whoolywood Shuffle," a radio show that aired on Eminem's hip hop channel Shade 45 on Sirius XM. At some point in the interview, host DJ Whoo Kid mentioned Hogan's habit of calling everyone "brother," the Daily Beast reported. The conversation then turned to Hogan's use of the N-word.
But Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, is awaiting trial in a lawsuit against Gawker Media for posting clips of an alleged sex tape starring the Hulkster in October of 2012, according to The Washington Post. Footage from that sex tape was obtained in a joint investigation by RadarOnline and the National Enquirer, showing Hogan using the racial slur again.
Hogan allegedly goes on a rant to Heather Clem, his sex tape co-star and wife of his former friend and radio DJ Bubba "The Love Sponge." In the tape, Hogan complained about his daughter, Brooke Hogan, and her alleged sexual relationship with the son of a "black billionaire guy," according to Radar Online. Then Hogan spewed out the N-word multiple times.
The WWE released a statement regarding their separation from Hogan to Fox Sports' Jimmy Traina, and he posted it on Twitter.
"WWE terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan)," the statement read. "WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide."
