Taylor Swift took to Twitter on Thursday to apologize to Nicki Minaj following their very public feud over the MTV Video Music Awards nominations. This morning, Minaj confirmed on "Good Morning America" that the two had worked everything out over a phone conversation.
The two artists spoke on Thursday, and Swift was "super sweet and she apologized. She said 'you know, look, I did not understand the big picture of what you were saying, but now I get it' so now we are all good," Minaj told "GMA."
"It takes a big person to do what Taylor did, and everyone sometimes speaks out of turn. I've been there sometimes ... it was big of her to come out and say that," she added, referring to the 25-year-old's apology tweet. "We spoke for a long time. We were cracking up laughing on the phone. It's over, you guys."
The 32-year-old rapper stands by her original tweets that said if she was a different kind of artist, she would have been nominated for the bigger awards like Video of the Year.
"But I was just saying, I posted something on my Instagram and it showed the stats of other videos that have been nominated previously, and it just seemed to be a little funny business going on. 'Anaconda' had such a huge cultural impact and on top of that, we broke the Vevo record! I do think if it was one of the pop girls they would have had many nominations for it," Minaj said.
The incident started after the VMA nominations were announced. Swifts "Bad Blood" music video received nine nominations, and Minajs "Anaconda" video only received two. The rapper ranted on Twitter about the snubs, and some of the tweets were misinterpreted as disses by Swift.
