Earlier this week Bindi Irwin revealed that she was romantically involved with someone, but she did not say who. Bindi turned 17 years old today and her special someone posted a sweet message to her on his Instagram. Wakeboarder Chandler Powell posted an adorable picture of the couple to his Insta, along with the caption, "Happy Birthday to this gorgeous girl! Feel very blessed to have you in my life. Counting down the days until I get to see you again!"
"There is someone special in my life right now, and I'm really happy with that," Irwin told Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday. "Life is wonderful at the moment."
The daughter of the late Steve Irwin shared a picture of her and Powell two weeks ago with the caption, "Super excited that @chandlerpowell has joined our #WildlifeWarriors team. Our global ambassadors are changing the world and making a huge difference to spread the message of conservation. We must work together to create a beautiful world for the generations to come."
Although Irwin told People magazine in February that dating was a "long way off," the Australian seems happy in her current relationship. As for her late father, Bindi said his relationship test would have included some serious survival skills.
"Dad always said you can't date till you're 40, and he has to be able to swim across our largest crocodile pond before he can go out with you," she explained.
Irwin was only 8 years old when her father, "The Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin, was tragically killed by a stingray.
"You'll always carry a part of that person in your life," she told People. "I realize that Dad would have wanted me to be happy, to carry love in my heart, and to love every single day."
