Star Wars Episode 7 Plot Rumors: Alex Pettyfer to Play Luke's Son? Rachel Hurd-Wood as Leia's Daughter?

"Star Wars: Episode VII" is set to begin filming in January and there is still very little information about who will be starring in the return to the galaxy far, far away. While it seems likely that the Big Three (Luke, Leia, Han) will return for what will most likely be minor roles not much else is known.

Latino Review is reporting that one actress who may be in the upcoming film is Rachel Hurd-Wood. The British actress is probably best known for her roles in "Dorian Gray" and "Peter Pan." The actress went in and read for a role, so she isn't necessarily going to be cast in the film but she is being considered, according to Latino Review.

Another actor that has been rumored to be tied to the film is Alex Pettyfer. The actor has recently been known for his appearances in "Magic Mike" and in the current number one film at the box office, "The Butler," according to Latino Review.

One of the few things that is known about the plot of the upcoming film is that it takes place roughly 30 years after the events in "Return of the Jedi." This has led to speculation that the main characters will be the children of Luke Skywalker or of Leia and Han.

The rumor of Pettyfer's possible casting in the film was met with more than a little bit of anger from Devin Feraci at BadassDigest.

"The latest 'Star Wars' casting rumors are in, and I strongly dislike one of them," Feraci said. "Blank awful guy who has 'THANK YOU' tattooed on his crotch, Alex Pettyfer, is up for a role that may be Luke Skywalker's son, which I keep hearing is the lead role. Pettyfer... is exactly the sort of generic prettyboy whose casting would speak volumes about the production."

One other rumor that was hinted at by Latino Review and BadassDigest is that Lucasfilm is on the brink of finally making a major announcement about the casting of "Star Wars: Episode VII" in the next couple of days. Once word is leaked HNGN will be on top of it so don't forget to check back often.
