Sony is set to release a bundle package with its upcoming next-generation console the PlayStation 4. The bundle will include an extra game, a second DualShock 4 controller and the PlayStation 4 Camera.
It's important to note that the bundle hasn't been officially announced by Sony. However, leaks from Amazon France have revealed that the package will include a copy of "Killzone: Shadow Fall" as well as the extra controller, PlayStation 4 Camera and a Jet Black 500GB PlayStation 4 Console. The real appeal to the PS4 Bundle is that it will cost the same as Microsoft's Xbox One, priced at $499.
IGN points out that Microsoft's Xbox One bundle will also come with Kinect and a copy of FIFA 14 for the exact same price. However, PS4 still wins in two categories. One, number of controllers. Two, ability for people to skip the camera and spend $100 less on the console.
According to IGN, the company had decided against bundling the PlayStation 4 with the Camera in with the console itself. This was to ensure that it beat Microsoft in price. Meanwhile, Microsoft has remained steadfast in its promise not to offer the Xbox One without its Kinect camera saying that the two are basically synonymous with each other.
This is only the latest in a long line of PR victories that Sony has had over Microsoft in the next-gen console superiority race. At this year's E3 the price and process by which users can share games was so widely well received that Microsoft was forced to backpedal on a lot of key features of their next-gen console. One thing they've refused to do is drop the Kinect in order to drop the price of the entertainment system. Now Sony has upped its game and offers a better bundle on the off-chance its fans want to pay more.
Sony's PS4 is due out in the U.S. on November 15. The Xbox One will arrive that month as well although no real date has been set.
UPDATE: This article has been update to fix a minor typing error that labeled the PlayStation 4 as the PlayStation 5.
