Ed Sheeran is all about helping his friends find love. The "Thinking Out Loud" hitmaker helped his friend, Kodaline's bassist Jason Boland, get engaged to his longtime girlfriend Etaoin Corr.
The exciting event happened during Sheeran's concert at Croke Park in Dublin on Friday night. During the show, Boland got down on one knee in front of 80,000 people and proposed to Corr - who said, "YES."
"So @EtaoinCorr said yes :-)," Boland tweeted alongside a photo of himself kneeling down and proposing his love to her on stage. He also thanked Sheeran, writing, "What a night! Thanks so much @edsheeran for everything! What an amazing way to start the rest of our lives #jayton."
Earlier in the day, the singer took to Twitter letting fans know he had a special surprise for his upcoming show, writing, "Something planned for tonight you won't expect (sic)."
This is not the first time Sheeran has helped set up proposals. He helped his friend Jake Roche of Rixton get engaged to his girlfriend Jesy Nelson of Little Mix, during a performance at Manchester Arena on July 19. Roche posted a photo of him kneeling down before Nelson. He captioned it, "A year ago today I met her at manchester arena, so it was only right, with a little help from my friend, that this happened. Best day of my life."
In May, Sheeran admitted to Entertainment Weekly that he gets plenty of requests to help with marriage proposals:
"We always say no just because if it's planned, it looks planned. Yesterday we had a spontaneous one - a dude sitting in the second row, every now and then he'd pull out a banner that just said, 'Proposal on stage?' and then close it. And halfway through the gig I was like, 'F**k it, just come up!' So that was cool. And I felt something because of that because it was so spontaneous - I got emotional watching it. So it just depends."
