Pressy For Android Adds An Additional Button For Smartphones With Customizable Options

Pressy is a small button that fits into the headphone jack of an Android smartphone giving users access to a wide range of functions with different click-combinations.

Pressy, a tiny physical button that connects to the headphone jack of an Android phone has made a tremendous debut with a Kickstarter campaign. With a series of innovative tech gadgets in the market, Pressy lifts the bar higher for simplified usage on a smartphone. The small button does not poke out of the headphone jack but sits only 0.7 millimeter above the surface of the smartphone.

The sleek and fashionable design of the device was liked by early buyers and the campaign had an amazing jumpstart on the Kickstarter page. It surpassed its goal of $40,000 in less than a day and now proudly stands at more than $290,000 with over 12,000 backers. The man behind the device's invention is New York-based Nimrod Back.

Pressy simplifies the access to some of the regular functions on a smartphone, which usually takes more than 8 seconds, according to the company.

"Connecting the Pressy Button with the free Pressy app lets you easily customize and use your favorite, everyday actions. For example, if you use your flashlight on regular basis, set a Click-combination the app for turning on your flashlight and start clicking the Button!" Pressy description on Kickstarter reads.

While it has simplified the process of use of several functions on the phone by simple clicks, it is also easy to set up. Users can plug the Pressy Button, install the free app, customize the options and it's good to go.

Pressy comes with 3 default clicks, which can be changed at anytime. The first default option is one short click for flashlight to turn on and click again to put it off. Similarly, one long click puts the phone on silent and vice versa and finally a double click to snap a photo.

Users can customize the options with different click combinations like setting a pattern for sending current location to a different user, recording a phone call, or even changing phone settings.

Pressy continues to raise funds through its Kickstarter campaign, which runs through October 14. Users can get their own button for a $17 pledge and can go up to $45. The company plans to ship out as late as March next year.
